Strawberry Allergy ... Do You Suffer From It ?

Most people would be surprised to learn that strawberry everywhere can cause allergies. This delicious and healthy fruit found in many desserts and even some salads. However, a strawberry allergy is very well done, although not as common as some other allergies. In fact, this problem may even be severe enough to be fatal. The severity of symptoms varies from person to person and also depends on the number of strawberries consumed. The symptoms of this allergy include:

1. Tingling in cheeks and lips, and tongue. In extreme cases, people may also have a burning sensation in these areas. Also, the area of the mouth is where first symptoms appear.
2. Inflammation of the throat, causing severe breathing and swallowing difficulties.
3. inflammation of the skin, including rashes and large red spots. The rash may or may not itch.
4. Swelling of the extremities such as fingers, toes, nose, etc.
5. Uncontrollable watery eyes and a runny nose

Less common symptoms of an allergy to strawberries are:

1. Diarrhea, vomiting and severe abdominal pain
2. Chest pain brought because of difficulty breathing
3. Dizziness and fainting caused by a sudden fall, unsafe blood pressure

The symptoms of strawberry allergy usually occur within minutes of eating the fruit in question, but may also occur after an hour or two. As some people are extremely sensitive to chemicals in the fruit, which manifest symptoms from eating too little fruit. Other people develop symptoms if they eat a lot of strawberries. In other words, you may not realize that you are allergic to what you eat a lot.

 If you recognize any of these symptoms should be tested for an allergy to strawberries. Once you are sure that you have this type of allergy, then you should avoid eating fresh fruit or otherwise. This will help you stay away from any life-threatening situation. If you realize you've eaten strawberries in any form, then you should consult a doctor immediately. You should also get tested for allergies to other fruits such as kiwi, orange or pineapple, as it is likely that you suffer from these allergies, in addition to the existing one.
